New Apointment - The Cooperative is currently looking to employ a fulltime Viticulturist to join the team. Contact us through the 'Contact Us' button above for more information on this role.
Indian Workers Visa Scam - The Cooperative seems to have been caught up in a scam being run by unscrupulous Indian Immigration Agents! Don't bother phoning us to request more information, as the supposed job offers don't exist. We have passed this information onto the NZ Government agents as well
Fruit Supply 2017 and onwards - If you are thinking of supplying the Cooperative, then contact us as soon as possible. There is continuing demand for grapes and wine from buyers who see value in dealing with a Growers Cooperative rather than an investor owned wine company. Remember - in 2014, 2015 & 2016, we picked every berry on our Members blocks. We doubt any other wine company in Marlborough did this.
The Marlborough Grape Producers Cooperative has been around in various forms for over 10 years. We are not a traditional wine company, nor are we contract grape growers. We sit between the two sides, running a wine business on behalf of our grower members.
Our mission is to work together to produce excellent Marlborough wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and other aromatic varietals.
Cooperative business models are common in the rural sector of New Zealand. Fonterra, Ballance, Ravensdown & Silver Fern Farms are all examples of successful Cooperative businesses. They follow strict commercial practices and ensure profits are returned directly to members, not paid out to institutional or private investors.
The Directors of the MGP Cooperative are embracing this philosophy completely. Over the past 12 months they have been steering the business through the initial phases of developing a Cooperative, while growing the business and developing new markets.
